Foamco raises the bar for slabstock production in Australia

The client:
As one of Australia’s leading foam producers, Foamco has been manufacturing and distributing high-quality polyurethane foams for the furniture, bedding, healthcare, audio, and packaging sectors for more than 25 years. After considering all their options for a new foam plant supplier, they turned to us to provide a new, versatile foaming line for producing multiple types and grades.
The challenge
As a supplier of more than 40 different types and grades of foam, Foamco was searching for a supplier who understood their unique needs. The plant would need to be flexible to accommodate production changes and a design to enable easy expansion and upgrading.
In addition, Foamco needed to be able to manufacture low-density foams without using CFCs due to tough environmental laws in Australia, as many countries are phasing them out, and this is where we have distinguished ourselves.
Our solution
Foamco, as a leading supplier, had high specifications for their new machine. To meet their needs, we supplied a customised Maxfoam Varimax Foam Plant fitted with our patented CarDio technology. CarDio enables Foamco to use liquid CO2 as a blowing agent instead of CFCs — without compromising the high foam quality. Their Maxfoam Varimax plant is fed by 50 separate high-pressure metering units, all linked to our Omega 4.0 control and monitoring system, which guarantees that each foam block meets Foamco’s exacting standards and high-quality demands.
